Recently, Porton Advanced announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has accepted its Drug Master File (DMF #33274) covering exosomes derived from human umbilical cord Wharton's jelly mesenchymal stem cells (hUC-MSCs).
This filing marks another significant milestone for Porton Advanced's exosome CDMO platform, extending the company's compliance capabilities from upstream cell bank materials to the final drug product. Together with the previously secured cell bank DMF, it establishes a fully integrated "cell bank to exosome" DMF framework.

A Drug Master File (DMF) is a confidential technical submission mechanism established by the FDA. Holders of raw materials, excipients, or process technologies may file proprietary technical information as a DMF, which downstream applicants can cross-reference in IND, BLA, or other regulatory submissions without disclosing full technical details to the sponsor. This mechanism safeguards CDMO intellectual property while significantly reducing applicants' regulatory burden and compliance costs.
In July 2026, Porton Advanced completed its UC-MSC cell bank DMF filing (#32973), establishing the upstream compliance cornerstone for exosome manufacturing. With this new exosome DMF filing (#33274) now in place, sponsors can cross-reference both filings directly in their IND and BLA submissions, substantially shortening review timelines. In parallel, the company's proprietary stem cell exosome ingredient has been assigned an INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) name, formally entering the global cosmetic ingredient dictionary.

Leveraging its extensive experience in the cell and gene therapy field, Porton Advanced has established a comprehensive exosome GMP manufacturing and quality control system to ensure high purity, high activity, and high stability of its exosome products.
The exosome CDMO platform supports multiple cell lines, including HEK293, MSC, K562, and iPSC, with process scalability from 2 L to 50 L bioreactors, a final product concentration of ≥1E11 particles/mL, and GMP-grade delivery within one month. To date, the platform has completed the manufacturing and delivery of multiple exosome programs for global clients.
With this latest filing, Porton Advanced continues to strengthen its position as a global CDMO partner for exosome-based therapeutics and cosmetics.Looking ahead, the company will continue to deepen its exosome CDMO capabilities to accelerate global clients' drug development and commercialization.
